Let’s face it… everyone’s dieted at some point in his or her life, and I’m no exception. I was always a thin kid and teen, but like many, once I had my first child, my metabolism completely changed, and I had a very difficult time losing weight.

My particular problem is, like most, I love food too much. I cannot stand bland food, and need my taste buds satisfied, and most of the time, it’s usually the higher fat foods that’ll end up satisfying me. Of course when your taste buds are being satisfied, you tend to eat more as well, and so the weight will, of course, not go away all on it’s own.

Aside from trying various unsuccessful diets for years, I’d eventually just started eating low fat or no fat foods that are on the market. That was most definitely short lived, since while there are some pretty good low fat and no fat products out there… a good majority is bland, and/or just… well, boring! And we do need some fat to begin with, so “no fat” all the time is not a good idea to begin with! Most want a nice, hearty meal that fills the belly, over a low fat cookie or granola bar any day! And most (like me) will cave after awhile, and end up frying something up in a pan that has gobs upon gobs of oil that we really shouldn’t be eating. Plus I do love to cook, so while it’s handy to have some of those low fat or no fat microwaveable products, I’d miss my cooking. (not to mention, home cooking will have far less sodium than majority of those frozen microwaveable products!) And you want to eat your meal with your family, so when you’re eating something entirely different from the rest of your family, yet still cooking for them, it makes it all that much more difficult.

To make a long story short (since so many of us have ‘been there’ with all the dieting and the yo-yo’ing and so forth) we’ll get to where I am now.
Since I don’t have much will power, (ha!) and must satisfy my taste buds, I started looking into low fat cooking and cooking alternatives, where I could still keep both my love of cooking active, keep my taste buds happy, and my belly satisfied! Some were common sense, of course, but I wanted nice big family meals that would satisfy not only myself, but the family as well, so they’re not moaning and groaning at meal times, assuming it’s “ewwwe! diet food!” When in actuality, it’s just much healthier food, omitting some of the “bad fat” content.
While that has been VERY helpful to me, I’ve also been using this all natural product for quite some time. And only because it’s all natural and organic – I refuse to use prescription type diet pills or those over the counter products ever again. Admittedly, I do still cheat at times. My weaknesses are thick cheeseburgers, cheesecake and bacon. (among other things) Unfortunately, all very high in fat. And this is why I use an all natural product as well.
Between using both the Proactol, the increase in low fat cooking I’ve done, and even with all the cheating I’ve done, I can happily say that in 8 months, I’ve gone from a size 18 jeans, to a (at this writing) size 12 jeans.
I have no desire to be as skinny as I was as a teen, but ideally, I’d like to get down to between sizes 8-10, and will be perfectly happy with that. I figure another couple months, I should be there. ;)

So I hope you get some use out of my blog. There are various low fat cooking tips and different ways of cooking to keep the fat content down, while not doing anything all that much different from your routine that will make a noticeable difference. I’ll continuously post some low fat recipes that are either very quick for those always on the go, or some excellent meals to sit down to with the family. All will of course be low fat while keeping the taste buds happy!

Enjoy!
